Tri-global Solutions Group Inc. is seeking one (1) Web Developer to join our talented Service Delivery team at BC Transit to support the rewrite of the Customer Alert System.

The successful contractor(s) have an anticipated February 27, 2023 (or sooner) start date for a 2-month contract (expected to conclude on April 21, 2023).

NOTES ON LOCATION: The successful candidate must be available to perform the required work within Canada, and accessible during standard business hours (8:00AM - 5:00PM) Pacific Time.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

At this time, BC Transit is seeking a web developer to refresh its Customer Alert system web page. BC Transit has developed a prototype and wishes to complete and publish the project as soon as possible.

The project aims to refresh BC Transit’s Customer alert system with the latest technology.

The system will go through User Acceptance Testing before it goes live in production.

Data in the existing system will need to be migrated to the new system.

BC Transit will be managing the project with an internal project manager.

The vendor will work with BC Transit’s senior application analyst and the business area to understand how the current system works.

The new system must produce accurate alerts and have a clean and user-friendly design interface.

Design and support documents must be provided at the end of the project.

Code must be adequately commented on for BC Transit’s future support

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES

Responsibilities

This role will report to the Supervisor, Enterprise Applications, and interact with the business SME and senior application analyst supporting the Customer Alert System.

The role may include the following:

• Complete all the Website design work

o Understand the business requirements

o Understand the IT security requirements

o The website must be mobile-friendly and be able to adapt to the end-user devices

• Develop the website in a test environment for testing:

o Work with senior application analyst to implement at the proper location

o Run system test with application analyst

o Implement bug fixes and enhancements as needed

o Document Transition to Operations plan

• Provide regular project updates

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND EDUCATION REQUIRED

The website Designer/Developer for this project will have the following:

• Extensive hands-on experience in web development technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, DOM, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, AJAX, JSON, AngularJS, NodeJS, and ReactJS.

• Experience in building cross-browser compatibility applications using HTML5 and CSS3, SASS.

• Comfortable working with CSS preprocessors (SASS/LESS).

• Expert in web page layout creation using CSS media queries and Bootstrap for responsive design.

• Expert knowledge of JavaScript libraries(jQuery) to create dynamic web pages.

• Proficient in developing Single Page Applications (SPA) using ReactJS, AngularJS and NodeJS.

• Experience integrating RESTful APIs for server-side functionality.

• Experience in using source control products and practices (Azure Dev Ops, GIT).

• Extensive experience in testing, debugging and troubleshooting code via modern techniques (Firebug/Chrome inspector tools).

• Ability to communicate orally and in writing effectively with stakeholders, technical teams, and other co-workers.

• Excellent planning and project management skills and ability to work to schedule.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

- Experience leading/ contributing to Web application design and development

- Ability to work with business SMEs and other application analysts

- Ability to develop sound and supportable systems

- Ability to document standard operating procedures, processes and end-user documentation
